Community Rules

Last updated: May 16, 2026

AI Fallout exists to collect human stories about AI impact and clearly labeled fictional warnings about possible AI futures.

These Rules explain what belongs here, what does not, and how moderation decisions are made.

What belongs here

  • Real first-person accounts about AI affecting work, school, reputation, creativity, hiring, automation, business, privacy, surveillance, or daily life.
  • Fictional, satirical, speculative, or future-facing dispatches that are clearly labeled as not real events.
  • Comments that add context, empathy, clarification, disagreement, or careful discussion.
  • Reports that identify genuine privacy, safety, spam, harassment, or classification issues.

Real story rules

  • Submit real stories in good faith.
  • Do not fabricate first-person experiences.
  • Do not present rumors as facts.
  • Avoid naming private individuals unless there is a strong public-interest reason and you can do so safely.
  • Remove unnecessary personal data, addresses, phone numbers, private emails, employee IDs, student IDs, medical details, financial details, and login information.
  • If a story involves an employer, school, client, or platform, focus on what happened and how it affected you rather than unsupported accusations.

Fiction and future dispatch rules

  • Fiction must stay clearly labeled as fiction, satire, or future dispatch.
  • Do not write fiction in a way that tricks readers into believing a real private person or organization did something.
  • Do not use future dispatches to launder harassment, threats, doxxing, or targeted accusations.
  • Speculation is welcome when the label is clear and the story does not create real-world harm.

Privacy and safety

  • No doxxing.
  • No threats or encouragement of harm.
  • No targeted harassment.
  • No private personal data.
  • No confidential workplace, school, medical, financial, or legal records.
  • No content that could expose a vulnerable person to retaliation or danger.

Spam, scams, and manipulation

  • No ads, referral links, promotional spam, phishing, malware, or scam attempts.
  • No synthetic engagement, vote manipulation, reaction manipulation, or report brigading.
  • No autonomous AI-agent submissions or comments pretending to be human-owned participation.
  • No link dumping. Comments with URLs may be blocked at launch.

Comments

  • Keep comments about the story or discussion.
  • Disagreement is allowed. Harassment is not.
  • Do not pressure authors to reveal their identity.
  • Do not ask for private contact details.
  • Do not diagnose, shame, mock, or attack people sharing difficult experiences.
  • Admins may hide comments or lock comments on a story when discussion becomes abusive, spammy, legally risky, or off-topic.

Reports

  • Report privacy leaks, harassment, threats, spam, scams, fiction presented as real, or other serious issues.
  • Use the report form in good faith.
  • Do not report content only because you dislike the viewpoint.
  • Repeated false or abusive reports may lead to account restrictions.

Moderation outcomes

Admins may approve, reject, hide, relabel, feature, unfeature, lock comments, restrict accounts, or preserve records for safety and audit history.

  • Pending: submitted and awaiting review.
  • Published: visible publicly.
  • Rejected: not published after review.
  • Hidden: removed from public view after publication or by author/admin action.
  • Deleted: removed where deletion is appropriate or legally required.

How to stay safe when posting

  • Use anonymous posting if public identity could put you at risk.
  • Remove names and details that are not necessary to understand the story.
  • Avoid uploading or pasting confidential documents.
  • Describe impact clearly, but do not include information that could expose you or others to retaliation.
  • If you are in immediate danger, use local emergency or professional resources instead of posting here.

These Rules may change as the community grows and new abuse patterns appear.
